Is America a Chosen Nation?
There's an irresistible emotional appeal there, that e are chosen to bring the message to the world. Americans have been using that and applying it to america since at least the civil war. It can lead to some very dangerous national self ousness. I cound talk on this for a long time. And it makes me really work to theologically. There's not much of an argument there. Like we all know, is not a chosen nation. But look at the old testament. You're right, it's about one particular people. That meshes so well with American understanding as the exemplar of liberty and equality. Ahy, what ar thngs i keep thinking about.
