The Liberalism of James Mill

Mill's own philosophy results from the fact that he felt the need to prove that he was self-made. In on Liberty, he sets out the broad conditions under which people could flourish in that way. It's a description of a good liberal life, but also a kind of liberal culture and society within which you'll be able to live out your life to the full.
