The Power of Persuasion
Jane Austen's novel, The Waste Land, is about the power of persuasion. It focuses on a woman who was persuaded not to marry by her mother-in-law. She now lives with that absence as life has moved forward and a replacement for Frederick never arose. This was a great opportunity lost but it doesn't need to be pitted against regrets or fate and fortune.
