The History of Wage Labor
After World War II it became kind of college education that was the road to a good life. This increases, I think, under the Clinton administration and afterwards in the 90s to the present. And it leads to all kinds of problems including this idea that college is the best road to a middle class life,. That's not true. It also gets tied into these kind of judgments about what is low status work and what is the work of losers who are kind of headed into so-called dead-end jobs and such.
