The term conspiracy theory was in use before the JFK assassination. The CIA used it as a pejorative to say that someone who thinks like that is, you know, a bit of a bit unhinged. It's all these stereotypes were created and everything. And people used to be able to talk about this over coffee and brandy after dinner.
