How to Avoid Inflating Your Spending Habits
I feel like anytime you experience an increase in your income you do need to adjust your spending habits before you start living on a budget that you didn't actually set. Houses and cars are such big ticket items that we're willing to really inflate because people see them like they're a way that we really interact with our social groups. I don't think we tend to inflate a lot of purchases that aren't so front facing to other people. Like no one buys a really nice new car to park it in their garage. They probably park it on their street.
