Introduction

Charmian Keynes is a senior partner leading BCG's programming with governments around the world on economic development. She also leads BCG's work on the topic of climate adaptation and resilience. The idea that we simply try and reduce emissions, but that we don't start to think about how do we make communities, societies, cities, coastlines more resilient? Clearly there's something that we need to be doing there. It's absolutely critical for all of our futures. But alongside of that, we're all seeing it, aren't we? A typhoon in Japan, the floods in Pakistan, the drought in Europe through the summer, the wildfires in Australia or California, whatever. These things
