Joyce's Dream Language
Joyce writes in dream language, so that the words carry multiple meanings. The style for each chapter is a sheer invention meant to render by its form the affect of the time of day and intention of the scene. We have an understanding of Jung's conception of the unconscious, which Joyce embraced. And we have Domtay as our guide to the gothic inflection of themes echoed through Joyce. But the real question we will be addressing throughout is how you get your own life imagery to link to the great archetypes.
