Is MATplotlib Object Oriented?

Matplotlib was originally modeled on the MATLAB way of programming and it had this imperative API. The new one is more object oriented, isn't it? Yes, that's exactly right. And if you stay on that path, then it makes more sense from a Python perspective, and you do have a tremendous amount of power.
