The Systemic Impact of Failure on Health Care

The biggest thing is the times in my job where I have a lack of control but ultimate responsibility. And so I am responsible for something that I really don't have the control to fix. If you pin too much of your motivation on some of these, these loftier things, like well, I do this job because I get to save lives, then you're putting yourself at the mercy of when those things fail. What about when there are factors that are completely beyond your control that mean the thing that you're motivated by is a failure? Then you are not just a failure, but there's nothing you can do about it.
