Men, women and children of this area of the nile valley were apparently being subjected to acts of violence. Study of these skeletal remains suggests that the individuals may have belonged to a distinct culture. They could poss ly have been migrating northwards along the nile river due to the fact that they were morphologically more similar to african humans to the south of this area than to the north. Some experts believe that this could have been a battle between lighter skined individuals from the north and darker skinned individuals from the south. One of the first instances of a battle based on xenophobic emotions.
