Cyrus and Artaxerxes - The Battle of Kanaxa
The two armies met in the early afternoon, just outside the small village of Kanaxa. Xenophon says that he only heard that Tissa Faranese had led the left and gives no specifics for the other side. As Artaxerxes approached, Cyrus saw that his brother held a huge numerical advantage. Cliaricus was reluctant to open up a gap between his right wing and the Euphrates River.
