I feel like he wouldn't do it so often if it didn't have its own utility to it. I think that's why he keeps coming back to examples like Antigone, Hamlet in the same way that that lacon did because his his work again doesn't. So everything is kind of theoretical for him. He really sees much of a distinction between literary work and an actual analysis,. not to say that if you asked him he would say of course there's a difference.
