Shakespeare plays start with like two servants describing everybody who you're about to see. Leonardo is a main character, but he also is there to do the setup because we've met him. Most of the most of the play is set in and around his large home or parlor. The group is led by Don Pedro, a prince of Aragon, who has just halted a rebellion from his illegitimate brother, Don John.
