The Difference Between Remote Work and Asynchronous Work
There's remote work and then there's asynchronous work. Remote work to me has to do with place. So you go into an office or do you go into a centralized place or not? When I think of async where it's about time, are we all working at the same time? Is it nine a.m. to five a.m., or 5 p.m. Eastern? Or is there more blurred lines there? The most extreme version of that is when you don't even think about really the time that it takes to be your work. It's much harder to hear what's going on. It's harder to contribute. A lot gets missed as a result.
