The book is three parts. The first and third part are from sue's spective, the middle part is from maud's perspective. And they are the ones who wind up in a relationship. But even as they start to have earnest feelings for each other,. they're aware they're running a con on the other person. Something that doesn't get sorted out until the very end of the book is, like, what of these feelings are real? How can i communicate these feelings to this woman? I'm interested in, how much of these feelings do i believe? And would she believe me if i said them to her? Em so that's, like, they are very similar characters
