Positive Oral Contrast for Acute Abdominal CTs

The use of oral contrast depends on the institution and I think what kind of patterns have been ingrained over the many years. In my institution, it's just been something that we've done traditionally. Although recently we have been using it less and less in the emergency department setting to help with problem solving for complex patients or postoperative patients. And then for cancer staging and restaging more in the outpatient basis.
