The Problem With the Court Losing Public Confidence
If people feel like the court is just one more political branch and it's not really deciding cases based on fact and law, then what do we need with them? I worry that people will resort to vigilante violence to get their way. The North Carolina Supreme Court reversed course, right, and has now said that North Carolina is just egregiously politically gerrymandered voting maps can go into effect. It's a real attack on the rule of law. Those issues all sort of come together. And it's depressing to think about."
