The Art of Biblical Narrative by Robert Alter
robert alter is making the case for a literary approach to reading the hebrew bible, the old testament. Jonathan and tyler foster are two guests us to chat about this book. Will just listeners, youl hav, to give us the benefit of the doubt with what we choose for not trying to make a point. But i was pleasantly surprised. Alter himself kind of acknowledges this critique of the bible as literature but he says a close literary analysis takes seriously the bible's kind of manifold significations. So i really enjoyed reading it.
