The King's Impositions in Parliament
The commons wanted the lords to come to the table a joint conference to discuss those impositions and agree a common line alf aff but somerset the howards, both sitting in the lords, they weren't having it. So what he did was to set up a friendly m p and noted literary wit, a man called john hoskins, to do this dirty work for him and enrage the king. Hoskins mixed his invective with wit, al ways a good idea, and said that a wise prince would send these strangers home as conute had done. The reference to the scots was as subtle as a gregg's sausage, cheese and beans melt.
