The Importance of Co-Ops in Agriculture
Agriculture is not a free market in the way that Adam Smith intended it. These agricultural co-ops are actually very sophisticated in their way of organizing large numbers of people and assets into these collective, not just collective bargaining units. They let them do more than the sum of their parts in terms of the way that AG functions. The internet is really reshaping the way that a lot of interaction takes place in agriculture but it's also reinforcing the importance of these kinds of networks. But I do think that in the future, there will be a lot of solutions around that kind of thing of these sort of member-owned, again, member-owned co-ops, maybe on the blockchain
