The Early Days of Open Source

In the 90s and early aughts, not a great time for open source in terms of public perception. There was a debate raging about which kind of free or open source licenses were quote unquote better for the community. Josh Birkis is a community architect at Red Hat but he's also a longtime member of the open source initiatives review board. He says users could not be expected to keep track of a catalog of open source licenses that had hundreds of different licenses in it.
