The Time Value of Money Is a Modern Fiction
Time is intrinsic to the nature of a loan. You transfer ownership by that very fact that time is involved. So it seems like duration of time should be an intrinsic consideration. If we change that expectation why not charge more on the basis of the fact that we're extending it beyond what would have been due otherwise?
