The Short-Lived Effects of Ketamine on Depression

The anti-depressant effects of ketamine appear to be fairly short-lived, at least when one is exploring one or two treatments with ketamine. The typical contour is that people will take ketamine, get this euphoric dreamlike dissociative effect and come out of that feeling some immediate relief from their depression. But even under the best conditions, oftentimes those effects don't kick in for weeks or months after somebody initiates taking the drug.
