The History of Bull Fighting in Spain
In 18 36, francisco montes, a famous matador, published a rule book called caromachia. The first official ring built to his dimensions was constructed in valencia. In ighteen 68, the first bull fight that used modern day bull fighting techniques and rules, namely, with six bulls and three matadars, took place. By now, bull fighting was so popular that bull fighters were becoming celebrities. But they weren't popular with everyone. Spain's famous 98 generation of philosophers, writers and artist were openly critical of bull fighting's rise. Even then, a hundred years ago, anti bull fighting sentiment was beginning to grow in spain.
