The Law of God and the Synagogue

The synagogue was the continuation among Jews of this pattern and Jesus fell into this pattern. He embraced it. His father had ordained it and now he embraces it. So you have the law read and you have Jesus opening and giving an urgent, contemporary, powerful, soul-inditing application that almost gets him killed. Why did they do it that way? Why?
