The affair was revealed, the intimate messages were leaked, and then things got even weirder. A few weeks later, on february seventh, basos posted a remarkable essay to medium saying that he was being blackmailed. In his essay, baso said he had hired private investigators to learn how the national inquirer had gotten his text messages. The inquirer seemed desperate to shut it down. And basos copied and pasted entire emales from the inquirers editor in chief. I've decided to publish exactly what they sent me, despite the personal cost and embarrassment they threaten. This was entirely unprecedented, and there's to unpack and hear.
