I think a lot of kids feel guilty. Only imagine it would be an overwhelming amount of guilt. Sometimes, you know, in those really severe situations, one parent will just they'll just totally withdraw because it's just too hard to try to have a relationship with the child and the child wants nothing to do with them. And there's been kids, adult kids who will say, I really wanted mom or dad to keep fighting for me. That's such a double bind for the parent that doesn't want to increase the conflict right? They want to try and manage this bizarre environment and then they can't control what happens when that can't.
