Challenges in Achieving Groundwater Sustainability in Sierra Vista Sub-Watershed

This chapter evaluates the progress towards sustainable groundwater use in the Sierra Vista sub-watershed and highlights the challenges faced in achieving sustainability, particularly regarding the San Pedro River. Factors affecting base flow decline, such as pumping, climate, and water usage, are discussed, along with the time delay effect of aquifers on water withdrawals in the area.
