The Tonga Eruption
Most of the models, the weather models are projecting El Nino by spring summer. The problem is that this Tonga eruption took place and because it has a warming effect in the short run, it's going to have a tendency of preventing an El Nino. Only one time out of 14 times did we have El Nino occur in the spring summer of the following year.
