Is There a Theory in Programming?
Theory is not a singular thing in the mind, but an exploration of actions that we can assess and reflect on. The theory built by programmers has primacy over other products such as program text or user documentation. Even if we don't agree with it, I think it's actually really important for understanding what now is trying to say.
