Is There a Hyperparameter in Decision Trees?
With these much more simple models, you have to think a lot more about the data get more creative with the data. With decision trees, they handle complex data types really, really well. Grid search is terrible in order to search an effective range of parameters for particular models. You just don't have that many hyper parameters that you could be tuning unless you're looking at esoteric things.
