The Importance of Pre-Activation Warm Ups

The weekend warrior is a section of the warm up that I'm fascinated by for a number of different reasons. Is this term activation or preactivation is the seems to be the term that is used in a professional football training session. What fascinates me is that it's made its way into fitness magazines and before they do a squat session they'll see in random as doing glue band work. The idea that it's somehow then allowing us to activate the agonist muscle to some degree to get more force, I'm not sure it's true. In athletes who are struggling to adopt an optimum motor pattern it is true that if we spend a very small amount of time deliberately trying to activate a muscle
