i don't like the word queer, because i don't really know what it means any more. Growing up gay, you sort of, when it was still taboo, certainlyin the playground. There's a kind of, alwaysa push to sort of self revelation and celebration with me in any case. And that meant that the kind of, that sort of duality, the sort of secret me, was very often, very close to sothilend. This interior i painted when i was 16 in my bedroom, or 15, with loads of classical columns and baro curlicues and things, not a ten age boy's bedroom. So there were these daft pushes at liberation
