Can a Chimpanzee Learn and Use a Language?
The average modern human brain is about 90 cubic s in size. Ostralepithesines were just 28 cubic inches, which is around a third of the size. Our closest living relatives, the chimpanzee, has a brain that is of very similar size to the astrolapithesines. So can a chimpanzee learn and use a language? This is a question that has been asked many times in the past, chimpanzee language. A large part of understanding how our cognitive capability evolved would be to study how and when our brain changed during its evolution.
