The Advantages of Living on the Heights
We are made for less important things. We are made for having food and smoking pipe weed and sitting around and talking. That is our role in this world. It's the quiet life that would give them, as we see with Frodo, for example, it's the shire that gives him the courage he needs to go on the quest to do the thing. They're happy places. I mean, it turns out they're very actually quite good at living on the heights for a little while. But it might not be their first choice of things. And they're always happy to go back to the quiet life.
