The Importance of Persuasion in Arguments
Most people do not even get into the mindset where they can seriously consider the validity of somebody else's argument these days. I think most people would say what if their opinion isn't valid, right? Like what if they're a Nazi? That's one of the biggest pushbacks I hear. So does that become immoral? I mean, how bad does another person have to be before it becomes immoral for me to even engage in the argument? It certainly is true that there's a point at which it no longer becomes morally significant to engage with a person because their views are simply so twisted. There often isn't anything to gain there.
