The EPA's Open-End Tech-Agnostic Approach to Regulation

The Obama administration wants 40 to 50 percent of annual cars sold in the US to be zero emissions by 2030 anyway. This EPA regulation is similar to the EU plan to have 100 percent of cars sold by 2035 at zero emissions. California is pushing for these same sort of rules in their state for 70 percent of cars to be low carbon vehicles. But it should be noted that this regulation is technologically agnostic we've been kind of discussing EVs as though the EPA said they were forcing everyone to buy EV but they are not doing that, he says.
