The captain's air speed reader was blocked by ice, the report says. The Pito tube acts like an altimeter and the higher you go, the faster it says you're going. So they weren't really going faster. They were just climbing. And that member we talked about how once they lifted off from the ground, he said, Oh, it started working and it just kept increasing in speed.
