Do You Have a Plan to End Extreme Poverty?

I believe we ought to give a larger portion of our income to organizations combating poverty, but I am open-minded about the best way to combat poverty. If there is no real chance of achieving the systematic change you are seeking, then rather than waste your time and resources on grand plans that will prove futile, it is much better to look for a strategy that may not end extreme poverty completely. After all, if you can't heal the wound, that's not a reason for refusing a band-aid. Giving people money or food breeds dependency. In less dire situations, providing food can make people dependent.
