The Evolution of Tachum Nuts

The tachum nut has a soft green fibrous husk that surrounds the hard inner shell. Inside the inner shell is the kernel, and it's the kernel that the monkeys need to eat. So they have to use enough force to breach the husk before using different amount of force to crack the shell. And what we found is that the monkeys are using an adequate amount of Force to breach the hull. Once the fracture begins, then they tamp down the force, and they hit the fractured but still hull nut with a lighter force,. Then the fracture propagates, and they can just peel the shell off the kernels.
