The Victorian Approach to Pornography

The Victorian attitude toward those texts was sort of like disrespectful in the sense that they didn't attribute it to the previous century. The most significant change that I tracked is that often so those discursive parts of 18th century novels that were women lament sex or theorize about it or have feminist discoveries, you know, around sex. Those passages are like minimized and or taken out entirely, like with a scalpel. It also obviously, I think kind of props up a powerful masculinity because it's reducing the effect that women have on the narrative and reducing their voice in it.
