The Role of Critical Theory in Inducing Psychopathology

The point of critical theory is to groom the inability to interact in the world on a day-to-day basis. Marcuse and Ferri here make the case unambiguously that we can create biological needs for liberation by creating conditions such that people feel like they can no longer function in this system. And so what he's advocating for as Ferraris was doing it almost exactly the same time in on another continent are creating conditions where people enter into a state where they find the ability to live in the existing system intolerable.
