The Rise of Jewish Philosophy
The first major example that we have of medieval Jewish philosophy is the 10th century with Sadia Gaun, who publishes his work in Hebrew. There was discussion among the Muslim philosophers, what must a Muslim do or believe to go to heaven? Who will go to Heaven? So this is an important theme that's discussed by various early Islamic thinkers and clearly the, uh, Jewish texts are responding just like they respond in so many other ways.
