The Soviet Union and Cuba's Relationship

Khrushchev's fall from power in October 1964 was a sign of more to come. The Soviets gave the Cubans quote, about $1.5 billion to modernize and build up their armed forces. There has never been a more generous program of economic and military assistance to a third world country.
