The Public and the Retail Circuits of the Feds

The New York Fed is the only one who has a trading desk that's a permanent member of the Open Market Committee. The other 11 are just appendages, but officially they're 12. In the retail circuit, you and I have deposits sitting somewhere at the $4,357 banks. There's more deposits than that because there's some banks that aren't commercial banks.
