The Discourse of Disability in the 19th Century
The premise of the book is that disability in the 19th century was constructed as different to a different category. By which people tended to mean non-disabled, but they also enrapped into that configuration ideas about whiteness and masculinity. Different scholars have had different interpretations of why disability was unfigtered front in the British Empire.
