The Relationship Between Whitfield and the Wesley Brothers
Whitfield saw John Wesley in the 1730s as a kind of spiritual father. He went from treating Wesley like John Wesley, like a spiritual father to a kind of lieutenant in his ministry. It's amazing to see this emerging among the kind of founding fathers of the modern evangelical movement. But we also have to remember that they were both very big personalities.
