Bickley was not granted a civil or military trial or even a hearing since the Lincoln administration considered him dangerous. After the war, Bickley was released in October of 1865, and he died two years later in October 1867. There are claims that they helped John Wilkes Booth assassinate President Lincoln. And there are also claims that they buried large stashes of gold and weapons to help the South fight another civil war in the future.
