The Aegean Islands Are Not Meant to Be Militarized
Greece has been militarizing the Aegean islands in a dispute with Turkey. The Turks claim that Greece was tracking their fighter jets as they were carrying out a NATO mission of reconnaissance in the area. This is all about the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, which still weighs very heavily in the minds of the Greeks despite it being 50 years ago.
